Sports enthusiasts can find the Illinois high school state football rankings on the Illinois High School Association website. The IHSA website posts rankings for each week of the current football season, as well as archived rankings from the previous five seasons.
The football rankings posted on the IHSA website are from the AP poll, the MaxPreps regional poll and the MaxPreps national poll. CSNChicago.com also posts the AP rankings on its website for each size class. Illinois has eight size classes for football, with Class IA including the smallest schools and Class 8A representing the largest schools. The IHSA introduced the eight-class system in 2001.
