Most printer manufacturers provide drivers on the company's official websites. Users can generally download these drivers using both wired and wireless Internet connections. Depending on the operating system installed on the computer, some printers may not even need a driver installation since many common drivers may be included.

Microsoft Windows versions 8 and 10 contain additional printer support, with even more available via Windows Update. Installing a printer generally involves only plugging it into both power and an available USB port on the computer, and waiting for the operating system to detect the device and offer to install the necessary software.
