Can an iPad get a virus?
By Forinfos - 07/05/2026 - 0 comments
An iPad or any Apple product can get a virus, although viruses for these products are rarer than viruses for Windows systems. The first virus for the iPad was reported in April 2010 and was designed to erase files and damage data.
Malware designed to attack iPads is not as lucrative for criminals, because the Apple iOS operating system runs on fewer systems than Windows. An iPad connected to a Windows PC can transmit malicious code onto the computer, even if the code does not run on the iPad itself. Anti-virus programs are available for the iPad, and it is recommended to back up important data and update through iTunes regularly.
