Can an iPod 4 get iOS 7?

A fourth generation iPod Touch is not compatible with iOS 7. The iOS 7 software is available for the fifth generation iPod Touch or later. The fourth generation iPod Touch originally came pre-installed with iOS 4, with the ability to upgrade to iOS 5 and iOS 6 later.

Though the fourth generation iPod Touch cannot run iOS 7, some apps changed their interfaces to match the style of iOS 7. This change gave users a preview of iOS 7 even if their device could not upgrade to the newer software. The fourth generation iPod Touch became discontinued in May 2013, when the fifth generation iPod Touch was released.
