Where can you find a list of city names ordered by population?

The American FactFinder published by the United States Census Bureau is one place to find a list of cities ordered by total population. Along with the decennial Census counts, the bureau provides yearly estimates for each city.

The three most populous cities in the United States are New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
