Where can you find a list of national and public holidays?

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management publishes the government's official list of national and public holidays. Websites such as About.com and Office Holidays also publish the list of national and public holidays.

Education institutions make lists of public holidays available to enrolled students and their families. Workplace human resource offices also provide employees with a list of holidays.

In most years, the U.S. government observes 10 holidays. Inauguration Day is added to the holiday list in the year following a presidential election. As of 2015, two national holidays, Columbus Day and Veteran's Day, are observed by the federal government and only some private-sector businesses.
