Can you live without a brain?

It is impossible for a human being to live without a brain. The brain is the organ that controls most processes in the body that facilitate life. The brain also controls a person’s thought process and is responsible for voluntary and involuntary muscle movements.

The brain produces important hormones that maintain biological processes and control organ functions such as kidney, gastric and the immune system. Without a brain, a person cannot maintain her own body temperature. In the United States and many other countries, a person is pronounced legally dead if there is no brain activity or breathing and circulatory functions.
