An individual can file an appeal regarding the suspension of her driver's license depending on the reason for the suspension, her state and mitigating circumstances, states Nolo. For example, she can appeal if the license suspension was a result of late child support payments or unpaid traffic tickets.
Many states have a statute of limitations on how long after receiving the notification of suspension a person may appeal, explains Nolo. In some states, the statute of limitations is only 10 days. During this time, the individual must establish the grounds for the appeal, file the correct paperwork and provide the necessary evidence.
