By Forinfos - 30/09/2025 - 0 comments

A suspended driver's license restricts the holder from driving for a period of time. It can be issued for various reasons, including the accumulation of excessive driving record points, traffic violations or speeding tickets.

A license can also be suspended if a holder is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or driving while intoxicated. Failure to appear in court or pay child support can also result in a suspended license. A license may be suspended by the local Department of Motor Vehicles, Secretary of State, Department of Revenue or Motor Vehicle Division. Requirements for reinstating a license can include the completion of traffic school, proof of insurance and payment of a reinstatement fee.
