Can a Lufthansa customer trade reward miles and other benefits for a cash rebate?

A Lufthansa customer cannot trade reward miles or benefits for cash. Reward miles may be redeemed for flight awards as soon as the customer has accrued sufficient mileage, and Lufthansa miles may be transferred to other carriers with which Lufthansa has a reciprocal agreement.

If a Lufthansa customer has a fully paid ticket on a flight, he can use his reward miles to upgrade his class of service. From time to time, Lufthansa's rewards program may offer non-flight awards that are communicated to the rewards program members. Lufthansa rewards program members earn miles through flights on Lufthansa and its partners as well as through booking hotels and rental cars with Lufthansa's partners.
