How can you make your own message signs?

One method to make message signs is to use wooden pallets, contact paper and stencils. This creates a two-color sign, according to The Turquoise Home.

To make the sign:

1. Prepare the boards

Remove the boards from the pallet and arrange them so they fit next to each other. Nail them in place and reinforce them at the back with a couple of planks. Sand the boards.

2. Paint the first layer

Paint the boards in the desired color for the message text.

3. Create message

Create the design for the message. Print this out on contact paper. Cut out the letters using a Silhouette Cameo or stenciling tools.

4. Paint the second layer

Apply the stencils to the board. Paint over them in the desired color for the boards. Peel off the stencils to reveal the message.
