Can you make a tax payment online through EFTPS?

Consumers can make a tax payment online through EFTPS. The system is provided by the federal government, and requires users to complete an enrollment request before payments can be made online. Payment options are available for both individuals and businesses.

To make a tax payment online through EFTPS, consumers have to enter their Social Security number, their PIN and their Internet password. The PIN and Internet password are obtained during the enrollment process. Consumers must schedule their payments before 8:00 PM EST the day before the payment's due date in order to be considered an on-time payment with the IRS.
