How can you monitor CPU temperature?

Use a third-party application called Real Temp to monitor the temperature of your CPU. Install the application on your system, and simply run the program to begin monitoring.
- Download the application
Download the latest version of Real Temp from TechPowerUp.com. Open the ZIP folder from your browser, or open it from the Downloads folder on your system. Extract the files from the zipped folder.
- Run the program
Open the extracted folder, and locate a file named RealTemp.exe. Right-click on the file, and select Open from the drop-down menu that appears to run the program. The program displays temperatures directly out of the box.
- Read the Real Temp dashboard
To determine how much power the CPU is currently using, read the Load percentage at the top of the dashboard. This should be under 100 percent unless high-end software, such as photo editing software, is being used. The temperature displays in Celsius. If no programs are running in the background, the temperature should be between 25 C and 40 C. If low-end programs are running in the background, the temperature should be between 45 C and 65 C. If the system is under a full load with high-end programs running in the background, the temperature should not exceed 70 C.
