The New York Stock Exchange's own website provides live information on stocks for free to all users, including links to Google Finance, a Beta site that features information from all major global exchanges. MSN money is also a useful site for looking at the progress of stocks throughout the day.

The NYSE also provides data via CNN and CNBC, who have cooperated with Google to produced the live updates on both its website and via updates to subscribers' phones. Previously, such updates were subject to a delay of around 15 minutes, but modern technology means that these sites can now update instantaneously, making them more reliable for traders.
