Where can I obtain a medallion guarantee stamp?

There are a few different places where a person can obtain a medallion guarantee stamp, including domestic banks, trust companies, clearing agencies and savings associations. The financial institution must participate in a medallion program of the Securities Transfer Association or the New York Stock Exchange.

Individuals who reside outside of the United States, such as members of the military, can obtain a consular's seal that is accepted in lieu of the medallion signature guarantee. These are available at any U.S. embassy in the world. These signatures must be done in front of officers who have been authorized to take the acknowledgements.
