The information available online using this resource only pertains to federal information and will not help when filing state taxes. In some cases, employers will make an employee's tax information available online at a particular website. If applicable, an employee should try this method first as it is usually fast and reliable. If neither of these options work, an employee can request a copy of his or her W-2 by filling out and submitting form 4506.
