The primary parking options for recreational vehicles or RVs are RV parks, resorts and campgrounds. There are about 14,600 private and public RV parks and campgrounds spread all over the United States, which means that there is bound to be an RV parking option within an American RV user's driving distance.

The majority of RV parks are open to all RVs, renting out parking spaces on a nightly or weekly basis and some even longer. RV parks typically charge anywhere between $15 to $50 per night, as of 2015, but some parks may even charge less or free. The facilities within an RV park vary from very basic hookups or none at all, to amenities that rival fine hotels.
