Before applying cocoa butter on facial skin, consider two factors: skin type and whether or not clogged, oily pores are present. Over-active oil glands can cause oily skin and increase certain types of acne. Some acne results from pores already blocked with keratin, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. Therefore, cocoa butter can be too greasy for acne-prone skin with previously clogged pores.
