BettyCrocker.com and Cooks.com provide simple, free apple dump cake recipes that only include three ingredients: apples, cake mix and butter. Both recipes are made in a 9-by-13-inch cake pan.

To make Betty Crocker's apple dump cake, place 4 cups of chopped apples in a sprayed baking pan and top them with one box of Betty Crocker yellow cake mix. Cover the top of the cake with 3/4 cup of melted butter. Bake the cake for about 45 minutes. The COOKS.com's apple dump cake recipe follows much the same instructions but replaces the chopped apples with two cans of apple pie filling.
