Can your regular family doctor remove a wart from your finger?

Regular family doctors can remove warts from their patients' fingers, according to FamilyDoctor.org. Some methods doctors use are applying cantharidin or liquid nitrogen or burning the wart.
A family doctor may also cut out the wart or remove it with a laser, explains FamilyDoctor.org; however, those two methods along with burning the wart may leave scarring and are methods of last resort. Cantharidin is a chemical that a doctor uses to paint the wart, and if treatment is successful, the doctor removes the dead skin at the next appointment. With liquid nitrogen, the wart is frozen. The process causes some discomfort, and treatments may be needed up to four times.
