Can you remove a refrigerator door if it has a water dispenser on it?

Refrigerator doors with a water dispenser or an ice maker can be removed with a couple of steps more than are needed to remove a standard door. The water in the refrigerator needs to be shut off and the water dispenser feed tube must be temporarily dismantled before removal.

SF Gate details the 10 steps needed to dismantle the water dispenser before removing the refrigerator door. All that is needed is an absorbent rag, a stepladder, a Phillips head screwdriver, a small flat head screwdriver and a 3/8 inch nut driver. An assistant is helpful to support the door once the upper hinge is removed, but this job can be completed single-handed if need be.
