Replacing an electric oven's heating element requires no special skills or tools and can be done as a do-it-yourself project. Be sure to identify the correct part number for your model of oven.
To replace the element: Disconnect the power at the breaker box and unplug the oven from its electrical outlet. Remove the two screws located in the rear of the oven's interior that hold the heating element in place. Then disconnect the wires from the old element, noting the way they are attached. Attach the wires to the new element and secure it to the oven's back wall. Once the repair is complete, it's safe to plug in the oven and turn the power back on.
