Where can you research your family tree for free?
By Forinfos - 24/09/2025 - 0 comments
Free family tree research is available through FamilySearch.org, RootsWeb.Ancestry.com and Glorecords.blm.gov, which is the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's General Land Office. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints operates the FamilySearch site, and the church operates more than 4,000 local centers where individuals can work with research assistants.
RootsWeb provides search functions, message boards and blank family-tree charts. Members also can post their family tree to the site. The land office has a searchable database and scanned images of federal land titles going back to 1820, which allows users to determine when federal land was transferred to a purchaser or homesteader.
