An employee self evaluation is a document in which an employee reflects on his or her performance at work over a given period of time. The evaluation usually includes discussions of areas in which the employee was very successful, as well as areas in which improvement can be made. Evaluations allow managers to gain insight into the employee's perspective, as well as provide the employee with an opportunity to reflect on performance.
