To apply for Medicaid in Florida, applicants should visit one of the state's 11 Medicaid offices. Each Medicaid office serves both recipients and providers.
To qualify for Medicaid in Florida, applicants must be pregnant or a parent of a child under the age of 19, disabled, over the age of 65 or need health care coverage due to low income. Applicants must be a resident of Florida and either be a United States citizen, permanent resident or legal alien.
Several Medicaid plans are available from the state and a choice counselor helps to pick one that best suits a family or individual.
