Can someone with bad credit apply for a Chase Visa card online?

Anyone with bad credit can apply for a Chase Visa card. However, applying for a credit card doesn't guarantee an approval by Chase. The minimum credit score most banks set as their benchmark for any type of credit card is 620, according to Bankrate.
If consumers apply for a credit card through one of the major banks, they need a credit score above 720 before the banks approve them for a platinum-level credit card, states Bankrate. Most banks and lenders, including Chase, consider any score below 720 as average credit, which subjects consumers to credit cards with higher interest rates and lower credit limits, explains Bankrate.
