Where can someone find information on the New York Subway?

The Metropolitan Transit Authority's website contains information on the subway, including maps, fares and schedules. The website also includes information on city buses, the Long Island and Metro-North railroad lines, and tolls charged at bridges and tunnels.

A MetroCard is needed to ride the subway and city buses. MetroCards cab be purchased at station booths or MetroCard vending machines. As of 2015, it costs $2.75 for a one-way subway or bus ride. MTA also sells seven-day and 30-day unlimited ride MetroCards at reduced rates. The seven-day MetroCard costs $30 and the 30-day MetroCard costs $112. Neither can be used on the express bus.
