Statistics on the participation of college students in elections are available at CivicYouth.org, CollegeStats.org and ChildTrends.org. In the 2014 elections, only 19.9 percent of 18- to 29-year-old Americans voted, which is the lowest youth turnout rate ever in a federal election.

CivicYouth.org is a resource of The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement. This website provides statistics on the youth, which is made up of many college students, and their participation in the 2012 and 2014 federal elections.

CollegeStats.org has an infographic that provides statistical data on youth voting by demographic, including gender, race, age, employment status, voting history and political party affiliation. Child Trends has graphs and detailed explanations of youth voting habits in the 2012 federal election.
