Can you swim with contacts in your eyes?
By Forinfos - 11/05/2025 - 0 comments
An individual can swim while wearing contacts, but it's best that he do so while wearing waterproof swimming goggles. Prescription swimming goggles are a good option for a swimmer who wants to reduce the chances of his vision becoming blurred and experiencing refractive errors.
An individual who doesn't wear swimming goggles or take his contacts out before swimming could cause his contacts to sustain bacterial infection, eye irritation and conditions that can lead to blindness. Rigid gas permeable contacts are more likely to fall out while a person is swimming when compared to soft contact lenses, which are more likely to become infected and irritated if exposed to water.
