How can you tell the age of a refrigerator?

Most brands’ websites provide an online option for checking an appliance’s manufacture date using its serial or model number. Certain general appliances websites also provide the same information using the brand name, model and serial number.

The brand name of the refrigerator is usually on the door and the model and serial numbers are usually listed on a name plate on the inside of the door, in the freezer or in the fresh food compartment wall.

Alternatively, if the owner of the refrigerator calls the manufacturer, the customer service department can tell the age of the refrigerator using the serial number and relay this information.
