How can you tell the bit of a computer?

To check which bit a PC is using on Windows computers, check under the system listings. System listings are found by clicking on the "Start Menu" and choosing “My Computer†followed by “Properties.â€
Depending on the operating system, the system listings will either list x64 edition or 64-bit operating system if the computer is running 64 bit. A computer running 32 bit will either list 32-bit operating system or have nothing listed. To determine if an Apple computer is using 32 or 64 bit, users must open the Apple menu and click the “Hardware†section. The processor name listed should be cross-checked with Apple to determine if it runs 32 or 64 bit.
