Can you tell the overall charge of any IV solution and why it is so?

The overall charge in any IV solution is zero. This is because the negatively charged ions and positively charged ions of the IV solution cancel out each other.

Group IV elements of the Periodic Table are comprised of three types of elements: nonmetals, metals and semimetals. An example of a nonmetal is carbon. Germanium and silicon are examples of semimetals. Examples of metals are lead and tin. Lead, which is symbolized by Pb, reacts with nitric (IV) acid to produce Pb(NO3)2, H2O or water and NO2 as a gas. Pb(NO3)2, which is an aqueous solution, has a neutral charge since Pb2+, which has two positive charges, cancels out 2NO3-, which has two negative charges.
