How can you tell when ringworm is gone?

Ringworm is considered gone when the skin rash has cleared up and the antifungal medication prescribed by a doctor was taken as directed to completion. Treatment runs anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.
Once antifungal treatments begin, it is common for the skin rash to start clearing up. If an individual stops taking the medication as directed, the rash could return. If it does, it could spread to other areas and cause skin blisters and cracks. These are especially susceptible to bacteria which could lead to an infection. It is better for those with ringworm to follow the treatment plan exactly as it was laid out by his or her doctor.
