Can you use baby oil as a lubricant?

Baby oil is an oil-based lubricant that can be used by women who have experienced irritation from other types of over-the-counter lubricants. Baby oil should not be used with latex condoms, because the oil-based formula can cause the condom to be less elastic and less effective.
Oil-based lubricants can also clog the pores, which can increase the risk of bacterial infections. If using condoms, a silicone-based lubricant is a better choice because it has a thicker consistency and they can be infused with vitamin E and aloe to help reduce irritation. Another example of an oil-based lubricant is petroleum jelly.
