Can I use Barclays credit cards around the world?

Barclays offers a chip card that is usable around the world, according to the company's website. This credit card has a smart chip embedded in it, and it is accepted in a total of 130 countries throughout the world.

Barclays states that a customer traveling overseas is required to insert his card into a chip-enabled terminal that has a slot versus swiping the card in a traditional card reader. Some transactions require the use of a four-digit personal identification number, but most transactions require only a signature. The chip card can also be used at many ATMs to withdraw cash.
