What can you use in place of a rolling pin if you don't have one?

According to Real Simple, a basic wine bottle makes an ideal rolling pin. However, any cylindrical item that retains its shape, including a full can of soda, a dowel or a bottle of water, makes an adequate rolling pin.
The Boat Galley recommends using cylindrical glasses or a piece of PVC piping in place of a rolling pin. When using something other than a rolling pin, it is best to place the dough between sheets of plastic wrap. The plastic wrap prevents the dough from adhering to the item being used to roll it out, and it keeps the dough clean.
