Can I use a vacuum cleaner to clean the air ducts in my home?
By Forinfos - 25/09/2025 - 0 comments
A vacuum cleaner can be used to do some limited cleaning of the air ducts in a home. It is important, however, to keep the vacuum clear of walls or filters that may incur damage if they come into contact with the force of the suction.
Although the Environment Protection Agency does not acknowledge any research as credible in establishing a need to clean air ducts, some people who are more sensitive to household allergens prefer to clean their ducts as a preventative measure. While a professional cleaner will be required to clean areas deep within a home's ducts, spaces next to duct covers can be cleaned by washing and vacuuming away excess debris.
