Where can vacationers stay when visiting Myanmar?

Visitors to Myanmar have a wide range of accommodations from which to choose, such as guesthouses, hotels and long-term lodging facilities. To accept foreign lodgers, privately run hotels and guesthouses must obtain a license from the government. There are several hundred licensed establishments in the country, as of 2015.

A visitor on a budget may want to stay in a guesthouse. Major tourism hubs such as Yangon and Bagan offer plentiful selections, the cheapest of which offer a shared toilet and limited power supply. For those who require a bit more comfort, Yangon has many 3- and 4-star hotels. Homestays and long-term lodging can be found both in and out of the country's urban areas.
