Beyond increasing daily vitamin intake, individuals at risk for leg cramps should also increase fluid and water intake, stretch muscles regularly, especially before and after exercise and at bedtime and limit or avoid drinks with alcohol, according to WebMD. Pregnant women, who are at risk for leg cramps, should heavily increase calcium intake to prevent muscle spasms.
