Wal-Mart money cards can be used to make online purchases. All of Wal-Mart's money cards have either a Visa or MasterCard logo, which means they can be used wherever those card types are accepted — be it online or in store.

There are four types of Wal-Mart money cards: Basic, Plus, Specialty and Preferred. Each card has its own advantages and disadvantages, but all of the cards can be used online, including at Wal-Mart's website and in stores wherever Visa debit and MasterCard debit are accepted. The card works just like a debit card except it is not tied to a bank account.
