Do Canadian geese mate for life?

Canadian geese do indeed mate for life with one partner unless their mate dies. Once their mate does die they will find another goose to mate with.

Canadian geese have an average lifespan of 24 years. They can be found in many habitats where there are grains or berries available, and they live throughout most of North America. It is not uncommon to find them in golf ranges, forested areas and on building tops.

Canadian geese have long black necks, heads, crowns and bills. Their throats, cheeks, and under tail covers are white. Their back, upper wings and flank are dark brown, and they have short black tails and legs.
