When do Canadians celebrate their Independence Day?
By Forinfos - 29/07/2025 - 0 comments
Canadians celebrate their independence on July 1 of each year. It commemorates the day Great Britain recognized its once former colony as a country through the passage of the British North America Act of 1867.
Canada Day celebrates the formation and recognition of the Canadian federal government. It was originally Dominion Day, although in 1982, the Canadian Parliament changed it to Canada Day. Canada did not reach its full size and land occupation until Manitoba and Prince Edward Island became official provinces two years after its independence. Like their American neighbors, Canadians celebrate their independence with fireworks, food, parties and picnics.
