Is Dr. Laura Schlessinger still Jewish?

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is no longer a practicing Jew as of 2015 but has stated that she still considers herself Jewish. She is a secular Jew. Her father was Jewish, and her mother was Catholic, but Schlessinger was irreligious until she began practicing Conservative Judaism with her son in 1996.
Schlessinger converted to Judaism with her son and her husband Lewis G. Bishop in 1998. On Aug. 5, 2003, Schlessinger announced on her radio show that she no longer practices Judaism, but she explained that she continues to have a Jewish identity. Schlessinger was born on Jan. 16, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York.
