What are cancer markers?
By Forinfos - 29/04/2025 - 0 comments
Cancer markers are substances found in the body when a person is suffering from certain cancers. Through tests, tumor markers help to determine if a person has cancer and what type.
Cancer markers can be found in the blood, urine and other body fluids. Presence of markers alone is not enough to diagnose cancer; therefore, other tests, such as biopsies, are use to ensure effective diagnosis. The blood can be tested to know if a person has tumor markers or even the tumor itself can be tested. However, it is crucial to note that not all types of cancer can have tumor markers.
