What is a canine chiropractor?
By Forinfos - 18/09/2025 - 0 comments
A canine chiropractor is a veterinary professional that treats dogs for a variety of medical issues by manipulating the joints of the spine and extremities. Research on the benefits of canine chiropractic have produced mixed results.
Chiropractic was developed for treatment of humans in the 1890s and is now used in animal species as well. The American Veterinary Chiropractic Association certifies animal health care practitioners who are both licensed veterinarians and licensed doctors of chiropractic. AVCA practitioners must pass both written and clinical competency tests and must complete at least 30 hours of approved continuing education in animal chiropractic annually to maintain certification.
