Capricornus is one of 12 constellations that make up the Zodiac constellations, according to Science.com. It is found in the southern hemisphere, as a faint constellation located above Cancer.

Capricornus appears to move along the ecliptic, which is the same path the sun takes across the sky over the course of a year. It is most visible in September at around 9 o'clock at night. Its brightest star is not alpha Capricorni but rather delta Capricorn or Deneb Algedi.

This is a multiple-star system whose brightest star is a hot, white giant. Scientists now know that at least two stars in Capricornus have planets.
