What is a car wishbone?

A car wishbone is a component in the front suspension system of many cars. A wishbone and MacPherson strut is the most widely used form of front suspension system, especially in front-wheel-drive cars originating in Europe. A car wish bone is sometimes referred to as an "A arm."
A car wishbone is commonly made of pressed and welded steel, but it is sometimes made of aluminum. Larger cars tend to use a double-wishbone configuration. This provides a more stable ride because the roll and sway of the car are reduced. The double wishbone configuration also provides better feedback through the steering wheel, contributing to a better steering feel.
