How do you care for a mini rose bush?

Mini rose bushes require consistent watering, full sunlight, humid temperatures, regular fertilization, pruning and maintenance. You need basic gardening tools, such as a hose, fertilizer, pruning shears and pest or disease control solutions to care for rose bushes. Caring for these plants should only take a few minutes per day.
- Water the plant
Provide 1 inch of water to the plant on a weekly basis, and make sure the soil is moist at least 1 foot deep. Compensate for periods of drought by providing more water than usual. To prevent fungal growth, do not wet the plant's leaves if it is humid.
- Keep the bush in an appropriate climate
Mini rose bushes thrive outdoors. Keep them in a humid area with full sunlight.
- Fertilize the plant on a regular basis
Use all-purpose or rose fertilizer, and follow the application instructions on the package. Feed the plant when its leaves begin to show and after each heavy blooming. Discontinue fertilization six to eight weeks before winter frost is anticipated.
- Prune the bush
Prune the bush directly before the first signs of new growth, which is usually when winter is transitioning to spring. First, remove dead or damaged branches. Prune back one-third of the bush to stimulate new growth and establish the plant's shape.
- Watch for diseases and pests
Look for signs of common rose problems, such as disease, Japanese beetle infestations, chafers and trips. Treat the plant as needed, depending on the issue.
