What is a career survey?

A career survey assesses a person's interests, skills and personal qualities, and it matches those with a career or cluster of related careers. The purpose of this survey is to help individuals, often those preparing for college, to find a career that is suited to their personalities.

A career survey considers a person's skills: what they are good at and what they struggle with doing. It also looks at a person's interests: what that person enjoys doing. Most surveys take into account the style of workplace in which the person has potential to thrive. Finally, the survey considers personal values in relation to career.
