What carries messages from the senses to the brain?

Sensory neurons receive impulses and carry messages from the sense organs to the brain. Once the brain receives this information, it sends new information to the motor nerves to tell them what actions to perform.
The nervous system is made up of the brain, the spinal cord and the motor and sensory nerves. The body has different types of sensory nerve fibers, and each responds to various types of sensory stimulation. One may respond to a light touch while others respond to deep pressure. The nerves produce different chemical responses based on how the sensations are interpreted by the brain.
